THE TREADWELL HISTORIC PRESERVATION & RESTORATION SOCIETY, INC. members.  2017 Douglas Grand Marshalls

The board members representing the Treadwell Historical Society are Wayne Jensen, Paulette Simpson, and Linda Snow. 

The Mission of the Treadwell Society is to: 
Promote the recreational and cultural significance of the Treadwell Historical Park and Trail and work to preserve the physical remains of the site.

They have organized Douglas Days to commemorate the 100th year of the Treadwell Mine from April 20-date of the Treadwell cave in through July 4th which was one of the 2 days Treadwell miners had a holiday, the other was Christmas day.
Their latest projects have been:
1.       Treadwell Mine’s salt water Pump House preservation:  Replacing roof structure and roofing. Installing wood or metal panels in the door and windows.
2.       The Treadwell Mine “New” Office Building Restoration:  Stabilization & preservation of the structure for use an outdoor shelter for picnics, parties or other gatherings.
3.       An Artifact Catalog: Collecting, cataloging, photographing and preserving of artifacts in private collections in hopes of one day providing a public collection of the Treadwell Mine era.
